Most modern smartphones, tablets, and some laptops manufactured since 2018 support eSIM technology.

  • How to check if your phone is compatible:
    • iPhone: Generally, iPhone XS, XR, and newer models are compatible.
    • Android: Compatibility varies by manufacturer and model. You can often check by dialling *#06#. If an EID (eSIM Identification Document) number appears, your device is likely compatible. You must also ensure your device is carrier-unlocked.

Installation is quick and requires a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data). Please note that to ensure you receive the best coverage, our official eSIM technology partner is Airalo. While your service is provided through us, you may see the Airalo name appear during the installation process or within your device’s network settings.

 

1. Via QR Code (Recommended):

    • iPhone: Go to your device’s Settings > Mobile Service.
    • Select  Add eSIM
    • Choose to Use QR Code and scan the code provided in your NuuTel confirmation email or the NuuTel app.
    • Android: Go to your device’s Connections > SIM Manager.
    • Select  Add eSIM
    • Choose to Use QR Code and scan the code provided in your NuuTel confirmation email or the NuuTel website/app.

2. Via Manual Entry:

Follow the same steps, but choose Enter Details Manually and input the SM-DP+ address and Activation Code provided by NuuTel.

This depends on the plan’s activation policy:

  • Upon Connection (Most Common for Travel Plans): The validity period starts the moment the eSIM connects to a supported network at your destination.
  • Upon Installation: The validity period starts immediately after you install the eSIM, even if you are still at home.

Always check the ‘Additional Information’ section for your specific plan’s activation policy.

Yes, in fact, we recommend it! You can install the eSIM profile while you are still at home with a reliable Wi-Fi connection. However, only activate the line in your phone’s settings when you are ready to start using the data (or when you land, depending on the policy).

Absolutely. With Dual SIM technology, you can:

  • Set your home SIM as the primary line for Voice (Calls) and SMS (Texts).
  • Set your NuuTel eSIM as the primary line for Mobile Data (make sure to enable “Data Roaming” for the NuuTel line).

This allows you to receive important calls/texts on your primary number while using the affordable NuuTel data plan.

You have two options:

  1. Top-up: You can easily buy a data top-up package directly through the NuuTel website/app to continue using your existing eSIM.
  2. New Plan: If a top-up is not available, you can purchase a brand new NuuTel eSIM package for your current location.

It depends on the plan you purchase:

  • Data-Only Plans: These only provide mobile data. You can still make calls and send messages using internet-based apps (like WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype).
  • Voice and Data Plans: Some NuuTel plans include a local or international phone number, allowing you to make and receive standard calls and texts.
